Riding The Super Sap Wave
Entropy was born from the belief that there was a way to build better surfboards, not just better for the
waves we ride, but better for the world we live in. Started out of a little workshop in Santa Monica, we spent several years quietly tweaking and testing our theories on sustainable surfboard construction and played with a variety of materials. In the process Entropy developed its own light and durable bio-epoxy resin, unlike any other resin seen before. Entropy eventually evolved into a full blown resin company, offering formulations that range in diverse application. Whether for skis, boats, wind energy or surfboards, Entropy's performance proven Super SapĀ® resin offers the composites industry a greener choice in materials . Today, our Super Sap CLR and SRF formulas are now a surf industry favorite, for making durable, high performance, and eco-friendly surfboards.

Technology
After years of development, our bio-derived epoxy systems deliver on the promise of sustainability + performance. These pine-based epoxies reduce petroleum content by up to 70% and replace it with a sustainably harvested resource. In its production, it consumes less energy and water than standard petroleum based epoxies, while also reducing the amount of harmful byproducts such as chlorinated hydrcarbons. As opposed to crude oil refining processes, the closed loop distillation processes of our bio-mass sources reduce wastes and greenhouse gas emissions. And if that were not enough all our bio-mass sources come from industrial waste streams and do not compete with food sources.
