Who is the Greenworks Collaborative?
Using alternative techniques, materials, & designs in surfboard construction, the Greenworks Collaborative is a network of surfboard builders dedicated to improving the performance, sustainability, and safety of modern surfboard manufacturing.

REY BANATAO, PhD
As a trained biochemist, Rey heads the development and sourcing of our bio-based materials. After
10+ years of working in a white labcoat, Rey has swapped out that labcoat for a dust mask, working
alongside an experienced crew of surfboard shapers, glassers, and craftsmen. Applying a scientific approach to board building was the next logical step in Rey's career as he has also been a lifelong skateboarder, snowboarder, and surfer. Combining his professional skills with a passion for boardriding, his mission is to create the most sustainable equipment possible, without sacrificing performance.

Ry Harris
Originally from Oregon, local South Bay Shaper, Artist, and Surfer, Ry Harris, aka "Podunk" joins the Greenworks Team with 8 years shaping experience. Ry has worked previously for numerous South Bay surfboard manufacturers, and is continuously pushing the boundaries in high performance board design. Ry specializes in performance shortboards, fishes, and funshapes and is usually found everyday at El Porto. Watch out for his latest creation, dubbed the "Biolite", the most sustainable and lightweight high performance shortboard on the market today.

Gary Young
Our friend and shaper from the Big Island of Hawaii, Gary Young, is is considered the pioneer in the integration of wood and foam for performance surfboard construction (aka comp-sand construction). He has been building sandwich construction boards long before Surftech created the "Tuflite", and is an advocate of maximizing the use of sustainable materials in everything from surfboards and canoes to paddles and furniture. We are proud to offer Gary's authentic, Hawaiian built creations for all to enjoy!

Jake Moss
Jake Moss is the veteran shaper behind Moss Research, and has worked closely with Entropy to introduce sustainable performance into his surfboard line, Moss Research.
